The actor has revealed that he’s already working on new instalments of Top Gun and Days of Thunder, and has no plans to slow down.
Tom Cruise has no intention of hitting the brakes. In a recent interview with Today Show Australia, the actor confirmed that he is “working on” a possible sequel to Top Gun: Maverick, the global hit from 2022. He also hinted that there are discussions underway to revive Days of Thunder, his 1990 motorsport classic.
“We’re thinking about a lot of stories, exploring what we can do and what’s possible. It took me 35 years to make Top Gun: Maverick, so these projects take time – but we’re already working on it,” he explained.
Cruise also revealed that he has finished filming a movie with director Alejandro G. Iñárritu, and that he’s continuing to develop multiple projects with his frequent collaborator Christopher McQuarrie.
This announcement comes just after the release of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, reinforcing the unstoppable momentum the actor is currently experiencing. When asked if he would follow in Harrison Ford’s footsteps and act into his 80s, he replied without hesitation: “I’m going to make films until I’m 100. I’ll never stop doing action, drama, or comedy. I’ll never stop.”
Tom Cruise – a cinema legend who doesn’t know how to slow down.
