Dior Autumn 2025 blends history and modernity with androgynous silhouettes, Elizabethan collars, and subversive bustiers in a show full of mystique and celebrities.
At Dior‘s Autumn 2025 show in Paris, creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri presented a collection that intertwined historical elements with contemporary and androgynous elegance. Inspired by Orlando by Virginia Woolf, the collection explored gender fluidity and the passage of time, reinterpreting historical silhouettes with a modern vision.

The runway transformed into a primordial landscape with volcanic rocks and giant crystals, creating a raw and enigmatic atmosphere that contrasted with Chiuri’s usual feminine themes. The garments featured removable Elizabethan collars, billowing pirate-style trousers, and ecclesiastical coats with tulle details, merging gothic aesthetics with structured tailoring. Bustiers over masculine jackets and black velvet ribbons adorned with baroque pearls added a touch of subversion to traditional power dressing.

The show also paid homage to iconic Dior designs, including the reintroduction of the J’adore Dior T-shirt, evoking the Galliano era. Rumours of Chiuri’s possible departure and the potential appointment of Jonathan Anderson as her successor added intrigue to the event, hinting at a possible transformation in the maison’s creative direction.

Dior’s Autumn 2025 collection showcased Chiuri’s ability to reinterpret the past with a contemporary perspective, offering a bold and sophisticated vision that challenges conventions of gender and time.
