Evan Mock unveils a capsule collection of flip-flops in collaboration with Reef and Wahine, blending island style, surf heritage, and contemporary urban fashion.
Model, actor, and skater Evan Mock has teamed up with renowned brand Reef to release a limited capsule of flip-flops in partnership with his clothing label Wahine. This launch represents a fusion of Hawaiian surf heritage and modern style, appealing to both urban audiences and coastal lifestyle enthusiasts.
Originally from O‘ahu, Evan Mock grew up wearing flip-flops—known locally in Hawaii as “slippers.” For him, this footwear is not just a passing trend but a key part of his identity. The collection reflects that deep personal connection to island culture and its evolution within the fashion world. Created alongside professional surfer and Reef ambassador Makoa Ho, the collaboration took a year to develop, with a clear vision: to celebrate the relaxed, authentic lifestyle of the Pacific.

The capsule includes two carefully designed models. The first is an updated version of the classic Reef Smoothy, featuring rhinestone details and a slight platform, designed for a unisex audience. The second is the Reef Ginger, a women’s flip-flop available in navy blue and buttery yellow. Both designs blend Reef’s classic aesthetic with Wahine’s fresh, modern approach, evoking a nostalgic nod to the ‘90s styles that defined a generation in the islands.

Mock and Ho agreed that the goal of the collaboration was not only to highlight design but also to connect with a community that values authenticity and cultural roots. In Mock’s words, “We wanted the collection to show where we come from while offering something new that could be worn both on the beach and in the city.”
Reef, a brand known for its dedication to surf lifestyle, strengthens its cultural relevance through collaborations like this one—bridging generations and staying true to its roots. Brianna Showell, Reef’s Vice President of Marketing, noted that working with talents like Mock and brands like Wahine helps keep Reef “at the centre of the cultural conversation,” not by chasing fleeting trends but by reflecting timeless, authentic values.

The capsule is now available through selected channels and is expected to receive a strong reception—not only thanks to the star power behind it but also due to fashion’s growing focus on functionality, comfort, and authenticity. This collaboration stands at the crossroads of past and present, where surf tradition meets the urban evolution of footwear.
With flip-flops making a comeback in fashion capitals like New York and Tokyo, the timing couldn’t be better. Evan Mock brings more than just design and style—he brings an honest narrative that resonates with those searching for more than just fashion; they’re seeking identity.
