The 2026 Pirelli Calendar brings together major icons in an edition guided by natural elements, exploring emotion, presence and contemporary visual power.

The 2026 Pirelli Calendar has finally been revealed, bringing together a cast that reaffirms its status as a unique cultural object. Tilda Swinton, Irina Shayk, FKA Twigs, Venus Williams, Gwendoline Christie, Isabella Rossellini, Susie Cave, Luisa Ranieri, Du Juan, Eva Herzigová and Adria Arjona headline an edition built around a narrative shaped by elemental forces and their influence on human experience. Directed by photographer Sølve Sundsbø and unveiled in Prague on 14 November 2025, this release stands as one of the project’s most ambitious chapters in recent years.

Sundsbø constructs a calendar that moves beyond traditional aesthetics and embraces a visual language rooted in the elements. Earth, air, fire and water become starting points to explore emotions, instinctive reactions and the subtle perceptions that define everyday life. Rather than treating the elements as literal environments, the photographer approaches them as psychological states, using this idea to create portraits that function as intimate studies of presence and expression.

The creative process began in April on Holkham Beach in Norfolk, where Sundsbø recorded natural landscapes in motion: waves, clouds, shifts of light and sunsets. His journey continued in the Essex countryside, capturing additional textures and atmospheric details. He later transported this visual universe to studios in London and New York, where he rebuilt these environments using large-scale LED installations designed to surround each woman in immersive fields of colour, shadow and movement.

This technique, central to the final result, allows the projections to respond to the gestures and presence of the cast, creating a living atmosphere that merges nature and studio work. The absence of physical locations provides a freedom that enhances expressiveness, connecting each image to a shared world despite being produced across different places and sessions.

The 2026 edition preserves the calendar’s long-standing legacy while introducing a renewed focus on psychology and the interplay between light, texture and energy. Swinton offers a ritualistic magnetism; Shayk navigates between strength and serenity; Twigs contributes a corporeal language that elevates the idea of the element as emotion. Each woman brings her own interpretation, forming a collective portrait shaped by the forces—visible or intangible—that guide human experience.

The result is a calendar that signals a new sensitivity in contemporary photography. A project that aims not only to document but to interpret, offering a sophisticated perspective on how human presence interacts with the natural impulses that shape daily life. The 2026 Pirelli Calendar emerges as a statement on the power of the body, light and imagination to transform the way we perceive the world.
