The global pop star takes on her first romantic comedy lead, expanding her acting career with a high-profile Netflix production.

LISA continues to accelerate her evolution as one of the most versatile artists of her generation. After making her acting debut in ‘The White Lotus’, the Thai superstar is now set to lead a Netflix romantic comedy inspired by ‘Notting Hill’, stepping into a role that directly echoes the cultural legacy once defined by Julia Roberts. The project, confirmed by industry sources, positions LISA at the centre of one of the platform’s most anticipated feel-good films.

The film marks a renewed collaboration with David Bernad, executive producer of ‘The White Lotus‘, whom LISA met during the series’ third season. According to those close to the project, a shared fascination with late-90s romantic comedies — and especially the enduring charm of Notting Hill — sparked the idea for this contemporary adaptation. The screenplay is penned by Katie Silberman, one of Hollywood’s most in-demand comedy writers, celebrated for her ability to balance humour, intimacy and emotional intelligence.

Beyond starring in the film, LISA also serves as executive producer, alongside Alice Kang, signalling a clear expansion of her creative influence behind the camera. While plot details remain closely guarded, the story is expected to revolve around a romance between two contrasting worlds, prioritising character, wit and emotional connection over spectacle.

This new acting milestone arrives alongside a major musical moment. The BLACKPINK member returns with the group’s new EP ‘Deadline’, released on 27 February, while simultaneously filming ‘TYGO’, her action-driven Netflix project within the Extraction universe. Music, cinema and production now coexist seamlessly in LISA’s rapidly expanding global narrative.
