‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ releases its new trailer ahead of its 1 May 2026 premiere, bringing back Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt.

Almost two decades after ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ became one of the most influential films about the fashion industry, 20th Century Studios has unveiled the official trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2’, building anticipation ahead of its cinema release on 1 May 2026.

The sequel once again places Runway, the iconic fashion magazine that shaped the narrative of the original film, at the centre of the story. This time, however, the setting reflects a very different context: a publishing industry undergoing profound transformation, where the authority of print faces the growing influence of corporate and digital power players.

Meryl Streep reprises her role as Miranda Priestly, the formidable and respected editor-in-chief of Runway, who must now confront the gradual decline of print media while attempting to maintain the magazine’s relevance and influence in an increasingly competitive industry.

Anne Hathaway also returns as Andy Sachs, who crosses paths with Miranda once again years after the events of the first film, alongside Emily Blunt, who reprises her role as Emily Charlton. In this new chapter, the character has risen to become a powerful executive within a luxury conglomerate that controls major advertising budgets, placing her in a strategic position opposite her former boss.

The original cast is further completed by Stanley Tucci, returning as Nigel, the creative director of Runway, as well as Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman, who reprise their roles as Lily and Irv Ravitz. The story also introduces new cast members including Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, Pauline Chalamet, B. J. Novak and Conrad Ricamora, expanding the universe of the franchise.

Behind the camera, the original creative team also returns. David Frankel once again directs the film, maintaining the aesthetic and tone that defined the 2006 original. The screenplay is written by Aline Brosh McKenna, while Wendy Finerman returns as producer. Executive producers include Michael Bederman, Karen Rosenfelt and Brosh McKenna.

The new trailer hints at a story where fashion, editorial power and corporate tensions once again occupy the centre of the narrative. In this evolving landscape, Miranda Priestly must adapt to an environment where advertising budgets and strategic decisions no longer depend solely on magazines, but on large corporate conglomerates capable of reshaping the balance of power within the industry.

With the return of its original protagonists and an updated perspective on the future of fashion journalism, ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ promises to recapture the spirit of the original film while exploring how the media ecosystem has changed nearly twenty years later. The new trailer offers the most detailed look yet at a sequel aiming to place Runway once again at the heart of one of cinema’s most iconic fashion stories.
