Shakira and Burna Boy unveil the music video for ‘Dai Dai’, the official song of the 2026 World Cup, featuring appearances from Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and other football icons.
- Shakira and Burna Boy now have the music video for ‘Dai Dai’, the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, ready to go.
Shakira and Burna Boy have officially premiered the video for ‘Dai Dai’, the official anthem of the FIFA World Cup 2026, a production that brings together music, football and social impact in a visually ambitious piece filmed in Miami and directed by Hannah Lux Davis.
The video accompanies the release of the track as the official anthem of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative linked to the tournament aimed at raising funds to expand access to education and sport for children in vulnerable communities around the world.
One of the video’s biggest attractions is the appearance of some of international football’s most recognisable names. Among them are Lionel Messi, Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappé, Rodri, Vinícius Júnior, Takefusa Kubo, Santiago Giménez, Erling Haaland, Luis Díaz, Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala and Christian Pulisic, reinforcing the project’s global ambition and connecting it directly to the spirit of the championship.
The production also features Ghetto Kids Uganda, an organisation supporting orphaned children, street-connected young people and vulnerable youth through music, dance and theatre as tools for education and social inclusion.
One of the video’s most striking moments shows Shakira standing atop the iconic Angel of Independence, one of Mexico City’s most recognisable landmarks. The scene acts as a visual tribute to the country, particularly meaningful within the Colombian artist’s career and especially relevant ahead of a World Cup that will take place across Mexico, the United States and Canada.
The release also arrives as a prelude to the historic halftime show planned for the World Cup Final on 19 July 2026, where Shakira will perform ‘Dai Dai’ alongside Burna Boy, sharing the bill with Madonna and BTS in what will mark the first halftime show in the tournament’s history.
Beyond its musical dimension, the project carries a strong philanthropic mission. The fund associated with ‘Dai Dai’ aims to raise 100 million dollars before the World Cup final to guarantee access to education and sport in underserved communities. Shakira will donate the song’s royalties, while Sony Music will match the first 250,000 dollars raised, and the singer will also contribute one dollar from every ticket sold during her ‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran’ tour.
