Charlotte D’Alessio looks back on her love story with Presley Gerber and shares heartbreaking words following the model’s unexpected death.
The death of Presley Gerber at the age of 27 has prompted an outpouring of tributes from those who were part of his life. One of the most personal farewells has come from Charlotte D’Alessio, the Canadian model and former girlfriend of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber’s son, who took to social media to remember the years they spent together.
D’Alessio, 28, shared a selection of photographs from her relationship with Presley. Images of the pair embracing, everyday moments and personal selfies accompanied a message in which she openly expressed her grief and anger over his loss.
“I shared a pure love with you and for that I thank you and honour your life. You deserved more time. You deserved more life. I’m so angry about this,” the model wrote.
Her farewell continued with words addressed directly to Presley: “We love you, Pres. Always. Up there, down here. Never doubt it. We all love you so much. I hope you can feel it.”
Charlotte D’Alessio and Presley Gerber began their relationship in late 2017, although they initially kept their romance away from the public eye. Over time, they began sharing glimpses of their life together and eventually became one of the young couples connected to the fashion world who attracted considerable attention.
Their relationship ended in 2020, but Charlotte’s words reveal the affection that remained years after their separation.
Both began their respective careers at a young age. D’Alessio first attracted attention after appearing in photographs taken at Coachella in 2015 alongside Josie Canseco. The exposure generated by those images ultimately opened the doors to the modelling industry for her.
Presley, meanwhile, grew up closely connected to that world. The son of one of the most recognisable supermodels of the 1990s, he signed with IMG Models at the age of 15 and began working on the runway shortly afterwards. At 18, he appeared alongside Cindy Crawford in a reinterpretation of the famous Pepsi advert his mother had filmed decades earlier.
Presley Gerber died on 20 September 2026 while staying at a rehabilitation facility in Los Angeles. Although preliminary reports have circulated regarding the circumstances surrounding his death, the official cause of death has yet to be determined.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner said the investigation remains ongoing and that additional tests and studies have been requested. Final results could take several months, meaning any specific explanation regarding the cause of death remains subject to official confirmation.
In previous years, Presley had spoken publicly about his experiences with mental health and addiction. During an interview on the Studio 22 podcast in 2023, he explained that he wanted to use his own experiences to help others.
“Having struggled with mental health issues, depression and everything that comes with that, I think if I can help one person or a hundred people get out of a situation like the one I went through, that’s all I need,” he said at the time.
He also described looking after his mental health as “a 24/7 job” and expressed his desire to support people going through difficult periods in their lives.
