The official first trailer for “Challengers” has been released, and in it, we get to see Zendaya (portraying a professional tennis player) in a somewhat complicated love triangle.
“Tennis player turned coach Tashi (Zendaya) has taken her husband, Art (Mike Faist), and transformed him into a world-famous Grand Slam champion. To get him out of his recent losing streak, she has him play in a ‘Challenger’ event, near the lowest level of professional tournaments, where he finds himself standing across the net from her former best friend and ex-boyfriend (Josh O’Connor),” this will be the theme of the film.
During the filming of the movie, Zendaya had to get in great shape as her role portrayed a tennis player turned coach. Luca Guadagnino, who directed the film, was impressed with her dedication. “I mean, wow. We edited the film, and we actually used very little of her doubles. She’s so good,” said the director.
