The prestigious San Sebastián Film Festival will conclude its 72nd edition with a screening of ‘We Live in Time,’ a romantic drama directed by John Crowley and starring Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh. The film, which will have its global premiere in Toronto before its European debut in San Sebastián, will be presented out of competition at the festival.
‘We Live in Time,’ written by Nick Payne, explores the deep connection between Almut (Pugh) and Tobias (Garfield) through a series of vignettes capturing significant moments in their relationship. An unexpected accident brings these two characters together, transforming their lives in surprising and emotional ways.
John Crowley, who made his feature film debut with ‘Intermission’ (2003) in the New Directors section of San Sebastián, returns to the festival with this new work, further establishing his reputation as a versatile director in film, theater, and television.
Garfield and Pugh, both acclaimed for their performances in previous projects, reunite in this film, which is expected to be a highlight of the cinematic season. ‘We Live in Time’ will hit Spanish theaters on January 3, 2025, distributed by Beta Fiction Spain.
