Ariana Grande gathers iconic Wicked actresses in New York to celebrate her role as Glinda in the upcoming film adaptation.

Ariana Grande joined her ‘Wicked‘ co-star, Cynthia Erivo, along with a group of actresses who have portrayed Glinda and Elphaba on Broadway, at a special event in New York City. Dressed in an elegant white Versace ensemble, Grande paid tribute to those who have brought the beloved good witch to life on stage before she takes on the role herself in the highly anticipated film adaptation.

Kristin Chenoweth, who was the original Glinda on Broadway in 2003, attended the screening and praised Grande and Erivo’s performances, calling the film “special” and expressing her excitement on social media: “I’m speechless, it’s incredible!“

The event also featured the current ‘Wicked‘ Broadway cast and the film’s director, John M. Chu. During an interview on ‘The Tonight Show‘, Grande recalled her first meeting with Chenoweth at just ten years old and spoke about the magic wand that Chenoweth gifted her.

In a recent interview, Grande expressed her excitement about playing Glinda, describing it as her “dream role.” “It’s been incredible to share this with the audience and feel so much love,” she stated, highlighting the deep connection she has developed with her character.
