Angelina Jolie attends Cannes 2025 as godmother of the Chopard Gala, supporting new talent and promoting global cinema.
Angelina Jolie once again took centre stage at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, acting as godmother of the prestigious Chopard Trophy Gala. Wearing a white dress reminiscent of a Greek goddess, the actress, director, and activist shone not only for her presence but also for her message of support for emerging cinema and humanitarian causes.

During the event, Jolie presented the coveted Chopard Trophy to rising film stars Finn Bennett (United Kingdom) and Marie Colomb (France), joining a list of talents that previously included Florence Pugh and Marion Cotillard.
In her moving speech, Angelina highlighted the power of international cinema to connect cultures and denounced the repression many artists face worldwide. She also paid tribute to filmmakers and activists who have died in Gaza, Sudan, and Ukraine.

The event gathered figures such as Halle Berry, Juliette Binoche, and Quentin Tarantino. Additionally, Jolie shared a tender moment with Alba Rohrwacher, her co-star in Maria, directed by Pablo Larraín.
