Madrid became the epicentre of international luxury with the historic Carolina Herrera runway show, unveiling its Spring/Summer 2026 collection.

The Spanish capital witnessed an unforgettable day as Carolina Herrera chose Plaza Mayor to present its Spring/Summer 2026 collection in an unprecedented spectacle. For the first time, the New York–based fashion house presented a seasonal collection outside New York Fashion Week, gathering more than 800 guests and placing Madrid at the heart of global luxury.

The event drew figures such as Pedro Almodóvar, Sebastián Yatra, Amaia, Becky G, Tokischa, Olivia Palermo, Alexa Chung, Luis Fonsi, and top models including Vittoria Ceretti, Karolina Kurkova, along with Argentinians Valeria Mazza and Pampita (Carolina Ardohain). The nearly one-kilometre catwalk, painted in pink, served as the perfect stage to showcase the 77 looks designed by Wes Gordon, the house’s creative director since 2018. With references to the Prado, the Movida Madrileña and cultural icons of the 1980s, the collection stood out for its theatrical volumes, floral embroidery and bold, vibrant colour combinations.

But the proposal went beyond fashion. Carolina Herrera collaborated with local artisans, reinterpreted the iconic white shirt alongside Palomo Spain, and launched a new fragrance, La Bomba, reinforcing the brand’s global vision. The show was broadcast live from Plaza de Callao, while nearby bars and terraces remained open, weaving the city itself into the spectacle.

With this landmark event, Carolina Herrera not only reaffirmed her power within the industry but also consolidated Madrid as a new international fashion destination. A city blending tradition and modernity, capable of transforming a runway show into a cultural and social experience that will remain etched in fashion history.
