Chanel unveils a Haute Couture Autumn 2025 collection that blends classical heritage with a wild, contemporary vision.
Once again, Chanel has astonished the fashion world with its Autumn 2025 Haute Couture collection — a proposal that merges tradition, luxury, and an unexpected dose of boldness. This show marks a strategic turning point for the French maison, not only due to its ongoing creative transition but also thanks to its ability to reinterpret its most iconic codes through a renewed and powerful visual language.

Held at the newly restored Grand Palais in Paris, the event recreated the legendary Rue Cambon couture salon, reflecting the history and sophistication that define the house founded by Gabrielle Chanel. Surrounded by Art Deco mirrors, neutral-toned upholstery, and an intimate atmosphere, Chanel unveiled an unexpected narrative: a collection inspired by the wild outdoors, with references to Scotland — the birthplace of the iconic tweed that’s etched into the brand’s DNA.

The garments captured the raw power of the natural elements: voluminous capes, brushed wool jackets with wide silhouettes, thigh-high boots, and a palette evoking forests, rain, and damp earth. Yet, the impeccable craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail remained untouched. Standout textures included: feathers blooming from shoulders, irregular fringes, lacquered lace, braided wools, and subtle touches of shimmer mimicking raindrops or snowflakes.
Far from being a rupture, the collection hints at the growing influence of Matthieu Blazy, who officially stepped in as creative director in April. Though not yet credited with the collection, his mark is already visible: bolder structures, striking material contrasts, and a design approach that aims to move, without betraying the legacy.

Chanel has proven its adaptability in a challenging economic climate without losing its allure. Despite a slight dip in revenue last year, the brand remains strong and optimistic, focused on reinforcing its identity while evolving intelligently. This collection affirms it: Chanel is unafraid to look ahead with confidence and clarity.
As Blazy’s official debut in October approaches, anticipation is building around the creative direction the house will take. Meanwhile, the Autumn 2025 Haute Couture show stands as a testament to a carefully managed transition — a perfect balance of legacy and reinvention, and to Chanel’s enduring ability to surprise the world.
