Charles Leclerc dismisses rumours of a split with Ferrari and reaffirms his commitment to the team ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix.
Charles Leclerc has swiftly put to rest the speculation linking him with a potential departure from Scuderia Ferrari HP at the end of the 2025 season. Speaking during media day ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix, the 27-year-old driver was clear: “I don’t know where that’s come from. I love this team and my goal remains to make it a champion.”
In comments reported by Motorsport, Leclerc said: “I’m very surprised. I have no idea where that’s come from. I haven’t said anything of the sort in recent races.”
Leclerc, who signed a contract extension in January through to 2029 — the longest in Ferrari’s Formula 1 history — emphasised that he shares “a common vision” with team principal Fred Vasseur and new teammate Lewis Hamilton to return the Prancing Horse to the top.
Despite Ferrari currently sitting second in the Constructors’ Championship, the SF-25’s struggles have fuelled speculation. Hamilton, meanwhile, offered full backing to the team boss: “Fred is the right person to take us to the top.”
With the tension eased, Leclerc and Hamilton are now focused on Friday’s free practice sessions. The team is looking to close the gap to Red Bull and fight for victory in Montreal this Sunday.
