Warner Bros. unveils the first teaser for “Joker: Folie à Deux,” starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga in an explosive tale.
Shortly after dropping a brief teaser, Warner Bros. officially releases the first full teaser for Joker: Folie à Deux by Todd Phillips. The two-and-a-half-minute visual sees Joaquin Phoenix reprising his role as Arthur Fleck/Joker, now in Arkham Asylum after the events of the first film. He encounters Harley Quinn, portrayed by Lady Gaga, and the two make their escape, seemingly finding some form of fame as artists with a group of followers clamoring for their release. The pair falls in love amidst the madness, as Fleck tells his doctor he’s “not alone anymore.”
The upcoming sequel is billed as a “jukebox musical” with at least 15 covers of “well-known songs,” one of which is “That’s Entertainment” from the 1953 musical The Band Wagon; its first teaser features “What the World Needs Now Is Love” by Jackie DeShannon.
Watch the full teaser of Joker: Folie à Deux, and catch the movie in theaters on October 4th.
