Colin Farrell admits he is not in a rush or has a “deep desire” to film the second season of The Penguin.
Colin Farrell has surprised his fans by revealing that he does not feel a particular urgency to return as the iconic villain in the second season of The Penguin. During his appearance at the SAG Awards, the Irish actor spoke with Variety about his role as the infamous Penguin, making it clear that he is not in a hurry to get back on set.
“I don’t want to. It’s not that I don’t want to,” Farrell confessed. “We all put everything on the line during those eight hours. It would annoy me to come back just for the sake of the so-called ‘success’ and end up with a watered-down version of what has mostly been well-received. So, I’m not in a rush. I don’t feel a deep desire to do it… Of course, if they come up with an idea that works alongside Matt Reeves’ cinematic universe and it’s good, I’m open to it. But it’s not something that keeps me awake at night.”
Although Farrell will reprise his role as the Penguin in the sequel to The Batman directed by Reeves, the filmmaker has yet to share additional details about the character’s development.
