Disney+ confirms the return of Malcolm in the Middle with the original cast and new episodes packed with chaos, laughter, and nostalgia.
Disney+ has officially announced the return of the iconic series Malcolm in the Middle, with Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, and Jane Kaczmarek reprising their roles as Malcolm, Hal, and Lois. The series, which defined a generation by portraying the chaotic life of a middle-class family, is coming back with four special episodes.
The original creator, Linwood Boomer, will helm this highly anticipated revival. The storyline will reunite Malcolm and his daughter, who find themselves caught up in the usual family chaos when Hal and Lois demand their presence to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary.
Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, stated that Malcolm in the Middle captured the complexities of family life with both humour and heart, making it a timeless series. Meanwhile, Karey Burke, president of 20th Television, highlighted the comedy’s influence on the television genre since its debut over two decades ago.
The original series, which aired from 2000 to 2006, spans 151 episodes and won seven Emmy Awards. In addition to the main cast, it featured Christopher Kennedy Masterson, Justin Berfield, and Erik Per Sullivan as Malcolm’s older brothers.
An official release date has yet to be announced, but fans can expect plenty of laughter, chaos, and family surprises coming soon.
