Prime Video has announced the casting of Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia as the leads in its upcoming thriller series ‘Obsession,’ which will be executive produced by horror maestro James Wan.
Based on Catherine Ryan Howard’s gripping novel “56 Days,” the series follows the whirlwind romance of Oliver (Jogia) and Ciara (Cameron). Their passionate relationship takes a dark turn when, exactly fifty-six days after meeting, a brutal murder occurs in Oliver’s apartment. As investigators delve into the mystery, the series weaves between the current investigation and the haunting past of the ill-fated lovers.
Written and executive produced by Lisa Zwerling and Karyn Usher, “Obsession” promises to be an immersive blend of crime drama and psychological thriller. Wan joins the project as an executive producer, bringing his expertise in crafting tension-filled narratives to the small screen.
Cameron, known for her roles in Disney’s “Descendants” franchise and Apple TV+’s “Schmigadoon!,” brings depth and charisma to her portrayal of Ciara. Meanwhile, Jogia, whose credits include Netflix’s “Choose Love” and Sony’s “Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City,” shines as the enigmatic Oliver.
With production underway and anticipation building, “Obsession” is set to captivate audiences with its seductive mix of mystery and suspense. Stay tuned for updates as the series prepares to make its mark on Prime Video.
