Drake debuts at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 with ‘What Did I Miss?’, reaffirming his global dominance.
Drake is once again topping the charts with his latest release, ‘What Did I Miss?‘, which entered straight in at number two on the Billboard Hot 100. This new single marks the Canadian rapper’s 81st entry into the Top 10, further extending his historic record as the artist with the most hits in that category. The track became a global trending topic just hours after its official release.
The song premiered on 4 July during a live YouTube event titled ‘ICEMAN EPISODE 1’ and was released on digital platforms on 5 July. It amassed 22.6 million streams in its first week, earning the number one spot on both the Streaming Songs and Digital Song Sales charts — once again demonstrating Drake’s worldwide pulling power.
Although ‘What Did I Miss?’ was unable to dethrone Alex Warren’s ‘Ordinary’ from the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, its reception was strong enough to cement its place as one of the year’s most significant releases. It also marks Drake’s first solo track of 2025, following his earlier collaboration with PARTYNEXTDOOR.
On social media, the artist didn’t take long to respond. Through his Instagram Stories, he shared an image highlighting the number two position on the charts, accompanied by a message making it clear that his goal is to reach number one soon — hinting at more releases in the near future.
The song’s release coincided with his headline appearance at Wireless Festival 2025, held in the United Kingdom. Over the course of the three-day event, Drake thrilled fans with surprise guests including Ms. Lauryn Hill, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Giveon, Bryson Tiller, as well as an entire night dedicated to British rap featuring performances by Skepta, Central Cee, Headie One, Dave, Vybz Kartel, Burna Boy, and Rema, among others.
Drake is expected to release a new collaboration with Central Cee later this week, which could become another major chart entry. ‘With What Did I Miss?’ already emerging as one of the year’s most popular tracks, Drake’s impact in 2025 is only just beginning.
