Between fantasy worlds and emotional depth, Aggy K. Adams is carving out a space of her own with quiet power and precision.

The operating room was silent. Not like in the movies, but real life: real scalpels, real tension. And there was Aggy K. Adams, disguised as a medical student, observing an open-heart surgery. She did it for Mia, her character in The Couple Next Door. “It was an incredible and enriching experience,” she recalls. “Mia is a scrub nurse, far from my world, and I wanted to understand it from the inside.”

The transformation went further. She worked on Mia’s accent to distance her from her own voice. “She’s Norwegian, and that was important to me. I didn’t want her to sound British. I also built her emotional background — what she’s lived through before arriving at the hospital in Leeds. I imagined key moments of her life, so she’d carry that quiet mystery in every scene.”

The result is an emotionally controlled yet deeply layered performance — a role Aggy now considers a milestone. “It was such a complex and deep character. I’d love to take on something like that again. I feel ready.”

Of course, her journey began long before Mia. Audiences first discovered her on a global scale in The Witcher, where she joined an already massive and beloved universe. “It’s a huge machine,” she says. “Everything is built with meticulous precision — the sets, the costumes, the world-building. It’s technically mind-blowing and surprisingly human. I made some of my closest friends on that set, and we’re still in constant contact.”

Aggy’s range is undeniable. From the irreverent teen comedy Oh, Ramona! to the dystopian tone of Altered, she has navigated wildly different genres with ease. “I’m not at that point yet where dozens of incredible scripts land on my desk,” she laughs. “But I saw both projects as opportunities to create a character and elevate the material in my own way.”

Outside the screen, fashion is another way she’s expressing herself. She currently styles herself, but her ambitions are clear. “I’d love to collaborate with Chanel, Miu Miu or Alexander McQueen. Gabrielle Chanel was my icon and role model growing up.”

We ask about future collaborations and whether there are any filmmakers she dreams of working with. Her response is instant. “Greta Gerwig, Chloe Zhao, Lynne Ramsay, Luca Guadagnino… the list is long!”

That depth is something she found when filming Greek Salad, directed by Cédric Klapisch. “He’s one of the best directors I’ve worked with. Kind, curious, intuitive. ‘Greek Salad’ was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. We became a family.”

Shortly after, she starred in Les Petits Meurtres d’Agatha Christie, the French adaptation inspired by the beloved novels — and her character, Jane Mallory, was based on Jane Birkin. “I researched her life a lot and ended up falling in love with 1970s France. There’s a freedom in that era that resonated with me.”

So what kind of stories move her most now? “I’m definitely drawn to stories about women — not just the ‘strong female lead’ trope, but women going through life, overcoming things, or simply existing with complexity. There’s so much we still haven’t explored.”

Her career has already taken her across the UK, France, and soon — possibly — Los Angeles. “It’s a lot. I’ve been trying to stay home in London more often. My accent changes depending on where I am!” she laughs. “But LA might be next — just to add it to the list.”
