The muse of the moment strips back to nothing but MAC in a campaign that celebrates beauty without filters or artifice.

MAC Cosmetics has unveiled its new global campaign I Only Wear MAC, and who better than Gabbriette to lead this statement of intent? The model and artist, already inseparable from the brand thanks to her signature lip combo, appears wearing nothing but the Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 foundation —an ode to the expressive power of real skin.

The campaign —the first under the global creative direction of Nicola Formichetti— embraces a stripped-back, visceral aesthetic, with Inez & Vinoodh capturing unembellished faces in masterful black and white, highlighting each skin’s texture and luminosity. “It made perfect sense that, for a foundation like this, we should all be bare-chested, skin natural and glowing. It felt very MAC,” shares Gabbriette.

For her, MAC has always stood for authenticity. “As a child, I was always a fan of make-up, but I knew MAC was the true icon. I’d go to the mall just to see the girls at the counter: they wore the boldest make-up I’d ever seen. Every make-up artist I’ve worked with started out as a MAC girl,” she recalls.

Although this isn’t her first collaboration with the brand, this campaign takes her bond with MAC to a new level. “MAC has helped me expand the way I do make-up and to experiment even more,” she says. Under Formichetti’s direction, the brand reconnects with its most rebellious DNA, fusing its cool-girl legacy with a futuristic vision.

“Nicola has always been a provocateur. I worked with him as a stylist and he was never afraid to break boundaries. That’s exactly what MAC represents,” says Gabbriette, celebrating a campaign that honours the past while mapping out a radically free future.
