Glenn Martens will debut at Maison Margiela with a haute couture collection in July, Xmag has learned.

According to Xmag, Belgian designer Glenn Martens will make his highly anticipated debut as creative director of Maison Margiela with a haute couture collection in July 2025. The Parisian maison has confirmed that Martens will present an Artisanal collection during Paris Haute Couture Week, which will take place from July 7 to 10.

This launch marks the beginning of a new chapter for the brand, following the departure of John Galliano, whose last spring 2024 show was widely praised as a masterpiece. Martens, known for his innovative approach at Y/Project and currently leading Diesel, will bring a bold and experimental vision to the house founded by Martin Margiela.

From OTB Group, Maison Margiela‘s parent company, there is full confidence in Martens, highlighting his education at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and his previous haute couture experience with Jean Paul Gaultier.

Martens’ presentation is expected to be one of the key moments of the upcoming season, alongside Demna’s shows for Balenciaga and the return of Iris Van Herpen. The designer has stated that he feels “honoured” to lead a “unique and deeply inspiring” maison.
