Jacob Elordi has reportedly been chosen as the next James Bond, according to new reports. Amazon MGM could officially announce his casting very soon.

Jacob Elordi could be on the verge of becoming the new James Bond. After months of speculation surrounding who will succeed Daniel Craig, new reports suggest that the Euphoria star has been selected to play Agent 007 in the next instalment of the franchise, which will be directed by Denis Villeneuve.

According to entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider, screen tests have reportedly concluded, with Elordi emerging ahead of other contenders, including Scottish actor Jack Lowden, best known for his role in Slow Horses. An official announcement could arrive between late October and early November, although Amazon MGM Studios has yet to confirm the reports.

The potential casting of the 29-year-old Australian actor has already sparked mixed reactions among fans of the franchise. Some have questioned whether a non-British actor should portray the iconic spy, while others believe his youth and commanding screen presence could bring a fresh identity to the character. Some critics have even taken to referring to him as “Temu 007”.

However, Elordi would not be the first Australian actor to take on the role. George Lazenby previously portrayed James Bond in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, released in 1969.

Elordi is currently enjoying one of the most significant periods of his career, thanks to films such as Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein and Wuthering Heights, in which he stars alongside Margot Robbie. His appointment would represent a move towards a younger generation as the studio looks to reinvent one of cinema’s most enduring franchises.

The upcoming Bond film will feature a screenplay by Steven Knight, creator of Peaky Blinders, and will be produced by Amy Pascal and David Heyman.

For now, the future of 007 remains shrouded in secrecy. But if the reports prove accurate, Jacob Elordi could be just one step away from becoming the seventh leading actor in the official James Bond film series.
