Jenna Ortega returns as Wednesday in a darker, romance-free second season with a stronger horror edge, premiering on 6 August and 3 September on Netflix.
The enigmatic Wednesday is back, with more mystery and fewer broken hearts. Jenna Ortega reprises her role as the iconic Addams daughter in the highly anticipated second season of the Netflix series, produced by Tim Burton. The new instalment will be released in two parts: the first on 6 August and the second on 3 September.

Following the huge success of season one, Ortega admitted that her character’s romantic subplot didn’t quite make sense, a sentiment echoed by many fans. “We’ve decided to lean more into the horror, which really fits the tone of the show”, said Ortega, who now also takes on the role of producer.

This season, the story will completely steer away from any romantic angles, instead embracing a darker narrative that better reflects Wednesday’s true nature. Ortega has taken a more hands-on approach to the creative process, getting involved in costumes, scripts, and new characters, with the aim of preserving the character’s authenticity.
“With someone like Wednesday, who’s such an icon, I didn’t want to get her wrong. I wanted to stay ahead”, she said. And all signs suggest fans are in for exactly what they’ve been hoping for.
