Jenna Ortega once again turned to her favourite platform shoes to wear a floor-length Calvin Klein dress at the 2026 BFI London Film Festival.

Jenna Ortega has turned a styling trick into something of a personal signature. During the photocall for ‘Klara and the Sun’ at London’s Corinthia Hotel, ahead of the film’s premiere at the 70th BFI London Film Festival, the actress once again relied on one of her favourite tricks for balancing floor-skimming dresses: shoes with a substantial platform and an even higher heel.

For the occasion, the Wednesday star chose a design from Calvin Klein Spring/Summer 2027, a minimalist creation that she paired with the new black Jenna Booties by Christian Louboutin. The combination adds height without visually disrupting the way the dress falls, while also ensuring that the footwear does not disappear completely beneath the hem.

This is nothing new in Ortega’s wardrobe. The actress regularly pairs long dresses, voluminous skirts and even wide-leg trousers with statement platforms, a particularly useful styling formula for petite women who want to maintain the proportions of garments designed with generous lengths.

In this case, the Louboutin ankle boots take the idea to the extreme. The design features an elevated platform and a 150 mm stacked heel, creating a considerably bolder silhouette than traditional court shoes or strappy sandals. The boots have a slightly almond-shaped toe, a side zip fastening and are crafted from black calfskin leather, complete with the French fashion house’s signature red sole.

The result also creates an interesting contrast with the Calvin Klein dress. Against its classic, flowing silhouette, the boots introduce a darker, more striking element that connects directly with the aesthetic Ortega has developed throughout her recent public appearances.

The actress has previously worn other platform styles from the brand, including the Cassia Satin Pumps and Rosalie Alta sandals, proving that this styling trick is not limited to a single shoe silhouette.

Her appearance in London coincided with the presentation of ‘Klara and the Sun’, in which she plays Klara, an artificially intelligent companion searching for the perfect home before meeting Josie, a young girl whose complicated relationship with her mother begins to change thanks to Klara’s presence.
