Kendall Jenner opens up about her bond with Caitlyn, acknowledging that their differences in perspective have created a distant relationship.
In the latest episode of ‘The Kardashians’, released on Thursday, 30 October on Hulu and Disney+, Kendall Jenner spoke more candidly than ever about her current relationship with Caitlyn Jenner, admitting that although the affection remains, their connection has been affected by ideological differences.
The moment unfolded during an unexpected visit from Caitlyn to the family’s former home, which Kris Jenner, Kendall’s mother, is preparing to sell. “About an hour ago, I called Caitlyn and asked what she was doing. She said, ‘Having dinner and watching Fox News.’ And I thought, ‘Of course you’re watching Fox News,’” Kris said with a laugh, hinting at the political undertone that often surrounds the family’s interactions.
Both Kendall, 29, and Kylie Jenner, 28, were touched by their parents’ reunion, though for Kendall it was also a moment to share a more personal reflection: “I definitely wasn’t expecting my dad to be here, just because of how my mum and dad’s relationship is. It’s not bad, just distant.”
In a confessional, Kendall went deeper into how she manages her relationship with her father: “I have to compartmentalise my relationship with my dad. I love her, and she’s still my dad. We have a good relationship, but sometimes she frustrates me with certain things.”
“We just have completely different views of the world. But still, I always want to include her. I know she doesn’t have much outside of her family and that sometimes she feels lonely.”
Although Kendall didn’t specify the exact nature of those differences, it’s well known that Caitlyn Jenner has been an outspoken supporter of the Republican Party and former president Donald Trump, a stance that has sparked controversy even within the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
The episode also comes months after Brody Jenner, Caitlyn’s son, publicly spoke about the complexities of his own relationship with his father. The conversation continues, but it’s clear that for Kendall, love and respect prevail—even when their worldviews don’t align.
