A text analysis reveals a 92% probability that the 2016 messages between Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron were indeed sent by him.

On April 9, the Trubaum Research Center revealed the results of an investigation into the authenticity of text messages exchanged in 2016 between actor Kim Soo Hyun and the late actress Kim Sae Ron. The assessment, directly requested by Kim Soo Hyun’s team, compared these messages with others he sent in 2025 to his acquaintances.

The ‘Author Identification Assessment’ is a statistical method used to determine whether documents written at different times come from the same person. This analysis measures the frequency of certain parts of speech in each text and calculates their average usage across 18 linguistic features, aiming to identify unique linguistic patterns.

The results showed that there were “no statistically significant differences” between the 2016 messages and the 2025 messages from Kim Soo Hyun, suggesting a 92% probability that the texts were written by him. However, “significant differences” were found when comparing the 2016 messages with the 2025 ones, indicating a 95% probability that the 2016 messages were not written by the actor. This analysis follows the doubts raised by the publication of recreated messages suggesting a relationship between Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron when she was still a minor.
