Kourtney Kardashian breaks her silence on Jennifer Lawrence’s criticism and reveals the unexpected message she received from the actress following her controversial comments.

Kourtney Kardashian and Jennifer Lawrence have been at the centre of one of the most unexpected exchanges in the Kardashian universe. It all began when the Oscar-winning actress publicly described the businesswoman as “more annoying than ever”, comments that quickly attracted attention given Lawrence’s long-standing friendship with the family. Now, Kourtney has decided to respond with a mixture of irony, honesty and references to her famous arguments with Kim Kardashian.

The controversy dates back to last November, when Jennifer Lawrence, 36, took part in a lie detector test. During the conversation, The Hunger Games star discussed her love of the reality series The Kardashians and admitted that certain aspects of Kourtney’s behaviour, now 47, were becoming particularly irritating.

“Everything has to be an announcement,” the actress said, referring to the eldest Kardashian sister’s behaviour during the show’s seventh season.

Lawrence went on to explain her opinion with several examples: “‘I’m not gonna wear outfits anymore.’ Just wear whatever you want. Don’t make an announcement about it. Or, ‘I don’t have a TV in my room.’ Just don’t watch TV. Stop announcing it.”

Her remarks came as a surprise because Jennifer has never hidden her admiration for the Kardashian-Jenner family. In fact, she has maintained a close friendship with several family members, particularly Kris Jenner, who even attended her wedding to Cooke Maroney in 2019.

However, rather than developing into a public feud, the situation took a different turn when the actress decided to contact Kourtney personally to explain her comments.

The businesswoman revealed what happened during the eighth season of The Kardashians, which premiered on Hulu on 8 October. Speaking to her friend Simon Huck, she explained that Lawrence had sent her an email following the controversy.

“She’s like, ‘I just feel like I’m one of your sisters,’” Kourtney explained, making it clear that the actress had wanted to put her criticism into the context of their close relationship.

After watching the video again, Kardashian admitted that her reaction had changed. “When I rewatched it, I was like, ‘Oh, it’s not that bad actually,’” she confessed.

But the most memorable moment came when Kourtney joked about treating Jennifer exactly as she would one of her own sisters.

“I said to my mom, ‘OK, she thinks she’s one of my sisters, I’ll f–king slap the s** out of her,’”* she said with a laugh, indirectly recalling her infamous physical fight with Kim Kardashian, which aired in 2020.

The businesswoman continued in the same playful tone: “I was like, ‘Invite her over, and we can—I’ll go for it like she’s my sister.”

Beyond the jokes, Kourtney acknowledged that the comments had arrived during an emotionally difficult period. The reality show was airing at the time, prompting widespread criticism of her behaviour, and she felt she was receiving too much negative attention.

“It was also a sensitive week when she sent it,” she explained. “I felt like our show was airing and everybody was ganging up on me.”

Despite this, Kardashian was keen to acknowledge Jennifer’s gesture, describing her email as “so nice”. She also admitted that she had not yet found the time to reply, although she already had a humorous response in mind.

“I’ll just say, ‘Next time you wanna come over, we can go at it, Kourtney and Kim style,” she joked.
