With this scholarship, the brand reaffirms its commitment to education, creativity, and the future of footwear design, championing a more inclusive and diverse industry.
The prestigious luxury footwear brand Manolo Blahnik has introduced a new scholarship at the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London, aimed at supporting young talents in their education. This scholarship, which covers three years of study and includes an annual contribution towards living expenses, seeks to remove financial barriers and ensure that creativity and craftsmanship excellence can flourish without limitations.
The award will be granted to a first-year student enrolled in the BA (Hons) Cordwainers Footwear programme, with the goal of encouraging innovation in footwear design and strengthening the industry’s artisanal heritage. It is open to students from both the UK and international backgrounds.
Claudine Rousseau, Dean of the School of Design and Technology at London College of Fashion, highlighted the significance of this initiative:“This scholarship represents an exceptional opportunity for talented students who may face financial obstacles in their pursuit of success. It is also a crucial step towards widening access to education and ensuring that diverse voices and perspectives continue to shape the future of luxury craftsmanship.“

Georgina Goodman, Course Leader for BA (Hons) Cordwainers Footwear, emphasised that financial support will enable students to focus on their creative development:
“Having the opportunity to study without financial concerns gives them the freedom to fully explore their craft, experiment with innovation in footwear, and realise their full creative potential.“
This scholarship programme is part of the philanthropic work of the Manolo Blahnik Foundation, established in 2022 to promote mental health and well-being, animal welfare, and support for new generations in the arts. “I have always wanted to help people,“ explains Manolo Blahnik, designer and founder of the brand. “With this UAL scholarship, we aim to support emerging talents and ensure that innovative, high-quality craftsmanship remains at the heart of the fashion industry.“
