This is the case of the recent collaboration between the iconic fashion house Maison Margiela and the renowned watch brand Timex. Two worlds that, in theory, do not have much in common, but that, in practice, have managed to create a piece that combines elegance and simplicity with precision and functionality.
Two Worlds, One Concept
Margiela, founded in 1988 by Martin Margiela, stands out for its avant-garde and minimalist approach to fashion, deconstructing traditional garments and challenging the rules with a philosophy that hides the logo to let the design speak.
Timex, meanwhile, is a historic watch brand founded in 1854, known for its accessible, durable and functional timepieces, with a focus on quality and precision.
The Collaboration
The T80 Gift Set retains the essence of classic Timex design, with a 34 mm stainless steel case and matching bracelet. It includes typical functions such as chronograph, alarm, date, and Indiglo backlight. In addition, it is distinguished by an exclusive detail: a mirrored mask on the dial showing a numerical sequence from 0 to 23, where the number “6” is highlighted as a nod to the MM6 signature. The set also includes an additional bracelet that can be worn alongside the watch or independently, reflecting the duality and versatility characteristic of Margiela’s fashion.
On the other hand, the T80 Ring Watch takes experimentation to another level, transforming the watch into a piece that is worn on the finger like a ring, maintaining Timex’s essential digital functionalities but in an unexpected and bold format. This model redefines the way the concept of “keeping time” is perceived with a design that is as functional as it is artistic.
