While the annual event naturally brings exciting anxiety and frenzy for both viewers and attendees, this year was even more anticipated as the theme paid tribute to legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld and the House of Chanel.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky took center stage as the two-time mom-to-be rocked a snow-white floral hooded jacket with an extravagant train, leaving no detail behind as her sunglasses were adorned with lashes. Her hubby reflected the late designer, donning his signature kilt.
Meanwhile, rapper Cardi B gave the sincerest form of flattery and mimicked Lagerfeld’s silver hair and white and black uniform, opting for a wide skirt. Nicole Kidman set the tone, sporting Chanel’s 2004 dress from her iconic commercial, while Doja Cat rocked Chanel, honoring Lagerfeld by dressing up as his cat Choupette, creating the look with the help of an Oscar de la Renta hooded dress that took over 5,000 hours to complete, sewing 350,000 silver and white bugle beads, while her friend did the facial prosthetics.
Lil Nas X did the same, covering himself in countless crystals, while Florence Pugh showed off a freshly shaved head with the help of a towering feather headdress, combining her piece with a voluminous white dress, accented with a bow.
