Olivier Rousteing, Creative Director of Balmain, will receive the prestigious 2025 Couture Council Award for his artistry in fashion.

Olivier Rousteing, Creative Director of Balmain, is set to be honoured with the esteemed Couture Council Award for Artistry of Fashion 2025 at the Couture Council’s annual luncheon, to be held on 3 September at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center, New York.

Appointed at just 25 years old, Rousteing became one of the youngest creative directors to lead a Parisian fashion house, breathing new life into Balmain with his distinctive style rooted in the brand’s heritage and traditional haute couture techniques. His innovative approach and commitment to diversity in fashion have captivated global audiences.

The event coincides with the start of New York Fashion Week and supports the city’s only museum dedicated exclusively to the art of fashion. Event co-chairs include Jane De Florio and Stephanie Loeffler, with Bloomingdale’s as the lead sponsor.

Rousteing stated: “This award celebrates not only my work, but also the creativity and boldness that drive our industry to redefine fashion.” The recognition places him among a prestigious list of legends who have shaped fashion history.
