Many people think it could be Pamela Anderson and no one knows that better than her stylist, Rebecca Ramsay. She, who was calling from Los Angeles to talk about Anderson’s recent performance, suddenly squealed with excitement. “Now someone with this big puffy hat is walking next to me – it’s Pam!”

As the tour progressed, they decided to use vintage to continue to reference the past without being too direct. “Pamela was so open to vintage, which I thought was great,” Ramsey said. For his appearance on the TODAY show, she wore a sleek, polished navy blue suit that Tom Ford designed for Gucci in 1995. In fact, for the Jimmy Kimmel she went more classic with a feminine little pleated black tea dress with a sweet neckline and black pumps.
On The Howard Stern Show , Anderson wore a “sweet vintage Alaïa dress” with a similar silhouette. Anderson seemed to have studied everything to the millimeter. The looks didn’t show as much skin as those of the ’90s, but they still felt sexy, letting Anderson’ s ladylike poise shine through.
Another of her standout styles was Yohji Yamamoto’s vintage houndstooth skirt suit, worn with a McQueen blouse and gloves. What initially generated doubts, finally became a celebrity milestone.
That same kind of electric elegance was visible in her not quite vintage looks . An example of this would be Magda Butrym’s all-beige layered attire consisting of a knotted collar blouse worn with tight-fitting cream pants and a trench coat over the shoulders. Or a tight-fitting white Alexander McQueen archival dress with a turn-down collar and a striped Sergio Hudson coat that mimicked the marquee of New York‘ s Paris Theatre.
If anything, the celebrity persona, which she and Ramsey are using to create the fashion, is that of a woman who doesn’t necessarily desire change as much as control. Anderson’s appearance, after all, has always been stylish. That is why important figures in the fashion world such as Porte Jacquemus, Donatella Versace and Marco Falcioni have wanted to collaborate with her in their most recent campaigns.
