Scarecrow follows Detective Kang Tae Joo, portrayed by Park Hae Soo, a once-celebrated investigator who finds himself reassigned to his rural hometown of Gangseong. There, while chasing down a serial murder case, he’s forced to team up with an unlikely ally: a former schoolmate he once detested.

Park Hae Soo shared his enthusiasm for the role: “I’m grateful to take part in a project that the production team has poured so much effort into preparing. I’ll give it my all and work passionately on this project.”

Joining the cast is Lee Hee Joon, who takes on the role of Prosecutor Cha Si Young, an ambitious figure with political aspirations. Si Young, who once bullied Tae Joo in school, must now navigate a fragile alliance with him to crack the case.
“The script was so engaging. I’m honoured to join such a meaningful project,” said Lee Hee Joon of the experience.

Kwak Sun Young rounds out the main trio as Seo Ji Won, a principled reporter for the Gangseong Daily and another former classmate of Tae Joo. Acting as a moral compass and investigator in her own right, Ji Won is determined to uncover the truth, no matter the cost.
“I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of energy the director, staff, and the actors will create together. Please give us lots of support and interest,” she remarked.

With themes of redemption, justice, and unresolved trauma, Scarecrow promises a layered, character-driven thriller that delves into the darker corners of memory and morality. Stay tuned for its premiere on Genie TV and ENA in early 2026.
