Pedro Pascal discusses his starring role in Almodovar’s upcoming 30-minute queer western, ‘Strange Way of Life

In a recent interview with Insider, actor Pedro Pascal talks about his character in the upcoming queer western, ‘Strange Way of Life,’ directed by Pedro Almodovar. The 30-minute piece is set to premiere in May at the Cannes Film Festival in May . In it, Pascal plays a cowboy named Silva who visits a “lifelong friend” played by Ethan Hawke.

Pascal told Insider that Almodóvar “opened up a whole world of stories, color, culture, rebellion and sexuality.” He further states that, during the process of shooting the film, he discovered that his directing style was “intoxicating, dangerous, hilarious, heartbreaking and spanned the entire spectrum.”

Of his time with Hawke, the actor says it has been a dream come true to work with someone he has seen both on stage and through the screen. He adds, “It was really an incredible opportunity to go, learn and enjoy the experience of being on the level of people like that. To take it all in was amazing.
