Presley Gerber, the son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber and brother of model Kaia Gerber, has died aged 27 in Los Angeles.
Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, and the older brother of Kaia Gerber, has died aged 27. The young model died on Sunday, 20 September, at a rehabilitation facility, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records cited by People.
At present, the cause of death has not been publicly determined. An autopsy is still pending, and the family has asked for respect and privacy following the news.
“The family asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult and painful time,” a representative for Crawford, Rande and Kaia Gerber said in a statement reported by US media.
Presley Gerber had spoken openly about his mental health and addiction struggles
Born in Beverly Hills in 1999, Presley grew up as part of one of the fashion industry’s best-known families. In recent years, however, he had chosen to speak publicly about a much more personal side of his life: his struggles with mental health, depression and substance use.
Speaking on the Studio 22 podcast, he explained that he wanted to use his own experiences to help others going through similar situations. He also began sharing videos on Instagram under the title ‘Mental Health Mondays’, in which he discussed recovery and the importance of introducing healthy habits into his life.
“I’ve seen a lot of things and I’ve learned a lot. I hope that I’ve made the mistakes for other people so they don’t have to make the same ones I did,” he explained during one of his appearances.
His sister Kaia Gerber had also recently spoken about the family’s situation. In an interview published by Vogue this September, the model discussed Presley’s long-running struggle with addiction and highlighted her brother’s decision to speak publicly about his experiences.
From walking the runway alongside Kaia to speaking openly about his recovery
Like his parents and sister, Presley also pursued a career in fashion. He signed with IMG Models at the age of 15 and soon began establishing himself within the industry. He made his runway debut for Moschino in Los Angeles, walked for Dolce & Gabbana in Milan and appeared in a Calvin Klein campaign.
Presley himself acknowledged in 2018 that sharing the same profession as Kaia made modelling feel “a lot less lonely”. The siblings both began their careers as teenagers and, during those early years, appeared together at a number of fashion-related events.
More recently, however, Presley had devoted part of his public platform to sharing his recovery journey. One of his final posts on the subject, shared in March 2026, documented another attempt at receiving treatment for his addiction.
He died on Sunday at a rehabilitation facility, although authorities have not yet released the circumstances or cause of his death. As a result, no public connection has been established between his previous struggles and his death.
Presley Gerber is survived by his parents, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, and his sister, Kaia Gerber.
