The young actor shares his passion for acting, his connection to Skeleton Crew, and how Disney shaped his artistic journey.
At a young age, Ravi Cabot-Conyers already boasts an impressive career. “I grew up surrounded by artists in my family, but what sparked my passion for acting was my curiosity about people. From a young age, I’d observe their gestures, voices, and behaviors, and then recreate them at home. It was my way of playing!” he shares with a smile. This curiosity translated into a career that began even before kindergarten, leading him to iconic projects like Encanto and now Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.
From Fan to Member of the Star Wars Universe
Playing Wim in Skeleton Crew has been a dream come true for Ravi. “I wanted the role even before I knew it was for Star Wars. When I found out, I couldn’t believe it. It’s incredible to be part of something so legendary.”
Ravi draws parallels between Wim and Luke Skywalker, whom he describes as hopeful heroes. “Both have bravery and a deep care for those around them. I tried to show that light in Wim.”
Fashion as a Form of Identity
Ravi’s unique style has garnered as much attention as his talent. For the Skeleton Crew promotional tour, the actor styled himself, blending pieces from brands like J Crew, Adidas, and Ted Baker with vintage items from Carhartt and Zadig & Voltaire. “I like mixing the classic with the bold. For example, I admire Richfresh’s designs and Alexander McQueen’s floral silhouettes. One of my dream looks is a floral McQueen suit from the 2000 collection.”

Ravi also highlights unique details like a custom belt with his name in Aurebesh, the Star Wars alphabet, and accessories from the Seven Saints line. “When I’m on a red carpet, I want my style to tell a story. But on set, I’m always in pajamas!” he jokes.
Camaraderie on Set
The young cast of Skeleton Crew not only worked as a team but also built strong friendships. “We’re like a family. Ryan and I spent a lot of time together off set. Interestingly, we almost never talked about Star Wars. It was more about TikTok, acting, and just having fun,” Ravi shares, highlighting the unique energy on set.
Antonio, Disney, and a Childhood Full of Magic
Before joining the Star Wars universe, Ravi was already known for bringing Antonio to life in Encanto. “I grew up surrounded by Disney characters, so much so that I’d go to the mall dressed up almost every day. Playing Antonio was a dream come true. He’s a warm and loving character who embodies values like compassion and family connection.”
The actor also notes how his love for animals and vibrant style resonate with Antonio: “His colorful outfit reminds me of myself. I even wore authentic huaraches that belonged to my grandmother. I love expressing who I am through fashion, and Antonio allowed me to do that on screen.”
Influences That Shaped His Vision
Ravi mentions works like Batman ‘66, Thomas the Train, and the upcoming drama Grassland as key to his personal and artistic development. “Grassland moved me deeply. It’s about social justice and complex relationships. Reading the script was a revelation about the power of cinema to tell real, emotional stories.”
He also expresses admiration for actors like Robert De Niro and Timothée Chalamet, as well as his dream of working with directors like Greta Gerwig and Martin Scorsese.
A Style That Shines
With his signature sense of fashion, Ravi has become an emerging style icon. From colorful bandanas as a child to unique pieces like a custom Aurebesh belt, his outfits always tell a story. “I love mixing vintage pieces with contemporary brands. Fashion is an extension of my creativity,” he states.
In a world dominated by neutral tones, Ravi embraces vibrant colors and bold patterns. “Fashion is a way to show who you are, and I want to be authentic on every red carpet, at events, or even when I’m on set… in pajamas,” he jokes.
