Ryan Reynolds denies the rumors of a Taylor Swift cameo in the new Deadpool & Wolverine movie, assuring that she will not be in the film.
Rumors about Taylor Swift‘s involvement in unexpected projects are common among her followers. Recently, speculations arose around the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie, where it was said that Swift would have a cameo. However, on July 22, Ryan Reynolds clarified these rumors in an interview with E!. “I will say once and for all that the Taylor cameo thing, because she’s our friend, is not in this movie,” Reynolds confirmed.
The speculations began after Swift attended a Kansas City Chiefs game with Reynolds, his co-star Hugh Jackman, and director Shawn Levy. Levy had teased the idea in October, telling TheWrap, “That’s all I’ll say related to Taylor. And it’s related to the MCU. I’m not an idiot.” This only fueled fans’ theories.
Additionally, an IMAX poster for the movie showed the superheroes wearing friendship bracelets, popularized by Swift during her Eras Tour, reigniting rumors about her potential role as Dazzler, an X-Men character she has been linked to since 2015. However, for now, this will not materialize.
Despite Swift’s absence, Reynolds expressed his wish for her to join the Deadpool world someday. He suggested that Swift could be the next Deadpool when he steps down from the role, describing her as “very funny.” Although Swift will not be in the movie, Reynolds assured that there will be other exciting surprises for fans.
