Sarah Jessica Parker will be honoured with the 2026 Carol Burnett Award at the Golden Globes in recognition of her legacy as an actress and producer.
She will receive the accolade during the upcoming Golden Globes ceremony, celebrating her extraordinary contribution to television both in front of and behind the camera. The event will take place on 8 January as part of the new primetime television special ‘Golden Eve’, broadcast on CBS and Paramount+, alongside the presentation of the Cecil B. DeMille Award to Dame Helen Mirren. This new format, expanding upon the previous Golden Gala, will offer an intimate look at the honourees’ careers and some of the most iconic moments in Golden Globes history.
Known worldwide for her portrayal of Carrie Bradshaw in ‘Sex and the City’ and its sequel ‘And Just Like That’, Parker has defined an era of female representation on television. Her work has earned her six Golden Globes, multiple Emmys, and Screen Actors Guild Awards, establishing her as one of the most influential figures in contemporary popular culture. Her other television credits include ‘Equal Justice’, ‘Square Pegs’ and ‘Divorce’, along with projects under her Pretty Matches Productions banner, such as the documentary ‘And Just Like That… The Documentary’ and the series ‘Work of Art: The Next Great Artist’.
Her film career includes hits like ‘Hocus Pocus’, ‘Meet the Parents’, ‘Failure to Launch’, ‘Ed Wood’ and ‘Mars Attacks!’, while on stage she has recently shone in ‘Plaza Suite’ on both Broadway and the West End.
Beyond acting, Parker launched her own publishing imprint, SJP Lit, dedicated to championing diverse voices, and served as editorial director for SJP for Hogarth. She has also produced the documentary ‘The Librarians’, set to premiere at Sundance 2025, and developed lines of wine, fragrances and footwear, while actively supporting artistic organisations across New York.
The Golden Globes, considered the most prestigious event in the audiovisual world, will kick off the Golden Week with Golden Eve, culminating on 11 January with the 83rd edition of the awards, hosted by Nikki Glaser and broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+.
