Scooter Braun has broken his silence, revealing what his relationship with Justin Bieber looks like today, following their professional split in 2023.
After nearly two decades of working together, Braun reflected on his bond with Bieber during an appearance on the podcast The Diary of a CEO. The 43-year-old music executive, who discovered Bieber in 2008 and helped launch him to global fame, acknowledged that things have changed: “It’s not the same as it was.”
“We were able to achieve incredible things. I’m very proud of what we accomplished, and I’ll always support him,” Braun said. “I think these things happen in stages. There comes a time when I understand he probably wants to prove he can do it on his own—and I completely respect that.”
Asked whether the split was painful, Braun was candid: “No, not at that moment. I was ready too. I wanted to experience a different career path and reconnect with myself. The writing was already on the wall.”
Now, following his official retirement from music management in 2024, Braun describes himself as “a cheerleader on the sidelines,” wishing the best for Bieber and their former team.
