Selena Gomez returns with In the Dark, a sultry 80s-style video that blends luxe visuals with raw emotional intimacy.

Selena Gomez steps confidently back into the musical spotlight with In the Dark, a stylish new visual featured on the soundtrack for Season Two of Netflix’s offbeat rom-com Nobody Wants This. Inspired by the glamour and grit of the Eighties, the video opens with Gomez in a black leotard, draped across a white chaise longue, channelling a mood that’s equal parts power and vulnerability.

As the video progresses, the atmosphere deepens: Gomez reappears in a dark two-piece and leather jacket, surrounded by smoke and shadow, her presence magnetic. “I’ll be there when you lose yourself. To remind you of who you are,” she sings softly. “And I’ll be there like nobody else. You’re so beautiful in the dark.” It’s a track that leans into intimacy, while the production nods to the cool restraint of retro synth-pop.

Gomez teased the clip earlier on Instagram Stories, revealing that the video was shot in under eight hours. “Thought it’d be fun to add a little Revival to it,” she wrote in one behind-the-scenes post—referencing her 2015 album era, known for its confidence and catharsis.

The release follows a major personal milestone: last month, Selena Gomez married longtime collaborator Benny Blanco in a private ceremony in California, surrounded by family and friends. The two artists previously worked together on 2015’s “Same Old Love” and 2019’s “I Can’t Get Enough”, officially confirming their relationship in late 2023. Earlier this year, they released their joint album I Said I Love You First, blending Gomez’s emotive pop with Blanco’s textured production.

With In the Dark, Gomez reminds us why she remains such a compelling creative force—one who continues to evolve without ever losing sight of her emotional core.
