Sydney Sweeney says goodbye to Euphoria with emotion and steps into the shoes of Kim Novak for a new biopic directed by Colman Domingo.
Sydney Sweeney is about to close one of the most significant chapters of her career. “I wrap Euphoria in two days,” the actress revealed during the premiere of her new drama Christy at the AFI Fest in Los Angeles. It has been three years since the last season, but for Sweeney, returning to set felt like coming home. “It’s mostly the same crew, so it feels like going back to family. I grew up with them. I was 20 when I did the pilot,” she shared with visible emotion.
Although HBO confirmed that the third season would be the show’s final one, Sweeney remained cautious: “I cannot confirm any information.” Meanwhile, Jacob Elordi also spoke about the new instalment, calling it “liberating” and “cinematic,” though he admitted not knowing much about the rest of the storylines, as each actor films separately. “It’s like FBI files,” he joked.
Now, with the farewell to Cassie Howard drawing closer, Sweeney is turning her focus to her next major challenge: portraying the legendary Kim Novak in Scandalous, a biopic directed by Colman Domingo exploring the interracial romance between the actress and Sammy Davis Jr. (played by David Jonsson) in 1957 Hollywood. “I’m going to meet with her, work with movement and dialect coaches, and watch all her films. I’m really excited,” she confessed.
A new journey begins for an actress who never stops reinventing herself.
