Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, and Simone Ashley lead the highly anticipated sequel to The Devil Wears Prada, now in production.
After nearly two decades of cult status, the iconic story set at Runway Magazine is making a comeback. In July 2024, Disney and 20th Century Studios officially confirmed that ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2‘ is underway. Filming began on 30 June 2025 in New York, and images of Anne Hathaway, Simone Ashley, and Pauline Chalamet on set are already circulating. Stanley Tucci and other fan favourites like Emily Blunt and Meryl Streep have also been spotted.
As for the plot, everything points to a shift in power dynamics: Miranda struggles to keep the print edition of Runway alive, while Emily now works at a powerful luxury advertising agency. Andy, meanwhile, has resurfaced amid rumours, although her storyline has yet to be confirmed by Disney.

The cast looks promising: names like Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, and the already viral Simone Ashley — who confirmed her involvement with a suggestive image of a red stiletto — are joining. Fortunately, the most criticised character from the original, Nate (Adrian Grenier), will not be returning.
Although it hasn’t been confirmed whether Patricia Field will return as costume designer, she appears to be busy with And Just Like That…. The sequel, still untitled, is loosely inspired by the book Revenge Wears Prada, in which Andy and Emily launch a high-end bridal magazine.
Expected release date: 1 May 2026.
And yes, we’re still dreaming of seeing Anna Wintour in the front row, dressed in Prada.
