What will Season 2 of The Last of Us be about?

While the first season was a faithful adaptation of the 2013 Naughty Dog video game and its 2014 expansion, The Last of Us: Left Behind, the second season is expected to adapt part of The Last of Us Part II, the sequel game released in 2020. When will Season 2 be released?
Although there is no exact date, HBO confirmed that the second season will premiere sometime in 2025. Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie, mentioned that filming will likely start in late 2024 or early 2025. Production has been affected by strikes in Hollywood, but negotiations have resumed.
