Timothée Chalamet makes his debut as the face of Lucid in Driven, a futuristic short film that redefines the very concept of automotive advertising.

Lucid Motors has challenged conventions in the automotive world with Driven, directed by James Mangold (Ford v Ferrari), featuring the Oscar-nominated actor as the brand’s first global ambassador. The production not only marks the launch of its new electric SUV, the Gravity, but also heralds the beginning of a multi-year collaboration with Timothée Chalamet.

In Driven, the actor takes on the role of The Groom, a traveller whose motorbike breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Alongside his partner, played by Larsen Thompson, he stumbles upon a hidden vehicle inside a government facility, setting off on an adventure across sweeping open landscapes. The narrative elevates the Gravity beyond the realm of technical innovation, positioning it as a symbol of freedom, discovery and unbridled power.

Filmed with the stunt team behind Ford v Ferrari and professional driver Tanner Foust at the wheel, the short employs cinematic storytelling to present the SUV as the star of its own action epic. The soundtrack — a reimagining of Burning by Yeah Yeah Yeahs — underscores the film’s emotive and futuristic aesthetic.

With space for seven passengers, sports-car performance and extended range, the Gravity positions itself as the luxury electric SUV for a new generation. For Akerho “AK” Oghoghomeh, Lucid’s Senior Vice President of Marketing, Driven represents a new chapter for the brand: more emotional, more cinematic, and unmistakably human.
