Givenchy appoints Yang Zi as its new ambassador in China, bringing together the actress’s influence with Sarah Burton’s feminine and elegant vision.
Givenchy continues to define its new creative chapter under Sarah Burton with a strategic appointment in one of the luxury industry’s most important markets. The French maison has announced actress Yang Zi as Givenchy’s new brand ambassador in China, with the partnership taking effect immediately and bringing together fashion, entertainment and digital influence.
At 33, Yang Zi has established herself as one of the most recognisable faces in the Chinese entertainment industry. Her relationship with fashion now enters a new dimension through Givenchy and the vision Burton has been developing since joining the house.
“I have always admired Sarah Burton’s vision for Givenchy and the elegance she brings to the house,” the actress explained. “For me, elegance is something very personal: it comes from the confidence to stay true to yourself.”
The new ambassador also believes the collaboration will allow her to explore new ways of expressing herself through fashion and, together with Givenchy, develop a vision of femininity built around two fundamental ideas: elegance and strength.
The appointment follows a career spanning approximately two decades in front of the camera. After beginning her career as a child actress, Yang successfully evolved into a leading figure in film and television. Productions including Ashes of Love, Go Go Squid! and Lost You Forever have played a particularly important role in expanding her popularity.
Her influence also extends far beyond the screen. Across social media platforms including Weibo, Xiaohongshu, Douyin and Instagram, she has more than 93 million followers, giving Givenchy significant potential to connect with Chinese consumers.
Her career received another major accolade this summer when she won the Magnolia Award for Best Actress at the 31st Shanghai Television Festival. Her performance as Bai Ju in Born to Be Alive made her the first actress born in the 1990s to receive the award.
Yang is also no stranger to the fashion and beauty industries. Throughout her career, she has worked with major names including Valentino, Prada Beauty, Michael Kors, Pomellato and Olay, building a strong commercial presence alongside her acting career.
