Zendaya is set to star in Alex Garland’s new science-fiction film for A24, with production scheduled to begin in 2027.

Zendaya has no intention of slowing down. Following a 2026 packed with major releases, the actress has already confirmed her next big film project: a new science-fiction feature from A24, written and directed by Alex Garland, the filmmaker behind Ex Machina and Civil War. The collaboration will bring together two of the most prominent names in Hollywood today for the very first time.

For now, the project remains untitled, and plot details are being kept strictly under wraps. The only confirmed information is that filming will begin in 2027, although neither a release date nor any additional cast members have been announced.

The film will mark another collaboration between Zendaya and A24, following her involvement in the series Euphoria and The Drama, the dark comedy in which she starred alongside Robert Pattinson. It will also be her first time working with Garland, who has established a close relationship with the studio through productions such as Men, Civil War and Warfare.

The announcement comes during one of the busiest periods of the actress’s career. This year, she has appeared in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, while also preparing for the release of Dune: Part Three, scheduled to arrive in cinemas in December.

Meanwhile, Alex Garland is also working on the film adaptation of the video game Elden Ring, another major A24 project. In the meantime, his upcoming collaboration with Zendaya is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films to watch in the lead-up to 2027.
