BLACKPINK’s Lisa will perform at the 2025 Oscars, becoming the first K-Pop artist ever to grace the iconic stage.
The Thai superstar is set to make history as the first K-Pop artist to perform at the Academy Awards. Lisa, a member of BLACKPINK, will take the stage at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on 2 March during the 97th Academy Awards, which will be broadcast on ABC and Hulu.
She will perform alongside Doja Cat and British singer Raye, with whom she recently collaborated on ‘Born Again’, one of the tracks from her upcoming debut solo album, Alter Ego. While it has not yet been confirmed whether that will be the song performed, the Academy has announced that the trio will deliver “a show-stopping celebration of cinema.” If they do perform ‘Born Again’, it will mark its live debut.
This milestone arrives just days before the release of Alter Ego, Lisa’s first full-length album, cementing her status as a global artist beyond K-pop. Her breakthrough into the Western music scene has already left a lasting mark: her solo debut “Lalisa” broke the Guinness World Record for the most-viewed music video by a solo artist within 24 hours.
Lisa will join a star-studded line-up that includes Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Queen Latifah and Lady Gaga, in a night set to be a multicultural celebration of global talent. Hosted by Conan O’Brien, this year’s Oscars ceremony will be remembered not only for its films, but also for a performance that marks a turning point in Asian representation on Hollywood’s biggest stage.
