The artist officially steps back into music with a new album, a mini international tour, and a docuseries capturing her renewed creative era.
She’s back: Hilary Duff has confirmed her full return to pop with ‘luck… or something’, her fifth studio album and her first since ‘Breathe In. Breathe Out.’ in 2015. The artist unveiled the project on 21 November after a teasing campaign that saw posters appear in London, Paris and Tokyo — the cities referenced in her iconic 2005 single ‘Wake Up’ — followed by a countdown on her official website.
The album’s release will be accompanied by “Small Rooms, Big Nerves”, a series of intimate shows marking her first headline tour since The Dignity Tour in 2007, which sold out within minutes. The new mini-tour kicks off on 19 January in London before heading across the Atlantic to Toronto, New York and Los Angeles.
The album is part of her new deal with Atlantic Records, announced in September. Duff will also document her entire comeback in a docuseries directed by Sam Wrench, the filmmaker behind the cinematic phenomenon of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour film. The project will follow the actress and singer as she balances family life with recording sessions, rehearsals, and her first live performance in more than a decade.
Release date and first look
‘luck… or something’ arrives on 20 February 2026. Alongside the announcement, Duff also revealed the cover: a relaxed, nostalgic shot of her lying on a retro carpet, wearing an oversized jumper, biker shorts and sheer tights.
What the album title means
In a statement, Duff explained that the title stems from a question she has been asked since childhood: how she has managed to stay grounded after growing up in the industry.
“People always ask how I’ve kept my feet on the ground after growing up here. The title is my way of answering: it’s luck… but there’s also a lot of weight in the ‘…or something’. A lot of what I’ve lived through is in there, and, ultimately, those are the things that shaped me.”
The artist had been dropping hints for months: in September she posted on Instagram that she was working on “new music… or something”.
What we know about the tracklist
The full list of songs has not yet been revealed, but the album will include her recent single ‘Mature’, released on 6 November alongside a music video marking her reconnection with pop-rock.
